night light or porch light:
This LED Bulb by Westinghouse, is not as bright as other LED's. But works good for my porch light and would work for a night light.

Very Dim Light:
Westinghouse 03466 Nanolux 3-Watt G19 LED Bulb, White Bought the bulb for back lighting behind my TV. Currently using a 40 watt incandescent which is a little too bright. Didn't mind the super white "blue" color, just not enough light here. The haunted house description is very accurate. No way could I read anything with this light in the room.

Useful for some purposes:
As others have mentioned, it's pretty dim. I use it to light up a dark area inside that leads to the garage. At night, it provides just enough light to see where you're going. I replaced a 10-watt compact fluorescent with this bulb, and this 3-watt LED bulb is maybe half as bright. Fortunately, the previous bulb was brighter than I needed, so now I'm benefitting from the lower energy use.

These are white not blue:
Blue?? These are white not blue. They are also not the horrible red/yellow like an incandescent bulb. I have 30 of these - the only lights in my house. Save lots of energy and have brilliant white light.

Either Don't Buy It Or Buy A Brighter One:
Yes, I read the reviews before I bought this, but I decided to buy it anyway. This light is so dim and so blue that it's not practical. It's equal to about a 15 watt bulb, not 40. If you want to try an LED bulb then buy a brighter one based on the lumen rating. After searching I've found a 13 watt LED bulb with 900 lumen, but it's $70. Subtract wasted money from this and it's really only $60.
