Another great Dark-Hunter novel by Sherrilyn Kenyon:
Susan Michaels has fallen on hard times - once a high-flying reporter, she is now disgraced and working for an old friend at the lowest of tabloids. But, when a friend slips her a cat, and tells her a bizarre story of vampires, protected by the police, cruising the streets of Seattle and killing at will, well she realizes that she has truly hit rock bottom. However, when the cat suddenly turns into a wounded man, she realizes that her life has moved from the grotesque to the bizarre. It's hard to be sure of what is going on, but the one thing that she is sure of is this intense and attractive cat-man. She is not the sort to just accept anything, and this new situation is no exception - she's tough and capable, and she is going to make sure that everything turns out right. This is another great Dark-Hunter novel by Sherrilyn Kenyon, and it has everything - a resilient and capable heroin, an attractive but deeply-human hero, plenty of action, intense sex scenes, and trilling/edge-of-your-seat suspense! Yep, this is a great book! So, if it's so great, what's up with the negative reviews, eh? Well, in certain ways Susan and Ravyn are larger than life. I mean, if I was Susan I would have had the bejesus scared out of me, and probably would have been unable to function. (But, she is an experienced journalist with a lot of situation handling knowledge.) And, as for Ravyn, well he is a god on earth, with killer looks and killer moves. But, nonetheless, I found this to be a very entertaining read. Yeah, if you want realism, this isn't the book for you. But, if you want intense action, intense romance, and intense people, then this book is for you. I still love Sherrilyn Kenyon, and haven't been disappointed yet! Dissappointing for the Dark Hunter Series:
Another disappointment for me. Leading women are starting to annoy me. Also seems like the novels are loosing that edge. Addicted to the series so will keep reading but hope the next novel is not a disappointment.

Dark Side of the Moon:
Ravyn was betrayed by Isabeau, hundreds of years ago. As a result the women and children of his Were-clan were murdered. Then the men of his clan turned on him as a result. Ravyn sought his revenge by killing Isabeau and her people. Susan is a tabloid reporter. She once worked for the Washington Post as a respectable investigative reporter, but because of a scandal no one will even talk to her now. Ravyn is a Were-hunter and a Dark-Hunter. He was captured by an Apollite and placed in an animal shelter where he awaits his fate. Apollites wish to take over the human world. They steal human souls to elongate their twenty-seven year existence by taking the souls of humans, thus turning them into Daimons. Dark-Hunters destroy Daimons for this. Ravyn is running out of time when Susan arrives at the shelter. Susan is informed by her friend Angie, that some recent missing persons reported may be connected and the investigative reporter in her leaps to life. She goes to an animal shelter to meet Angie where she is given an unusual cat to protect, but Susan is allergic to cats. Susan takes the cat home at the urging of her friend. Once there, the cat appears to be suffering. After removing the collar around its neck, the cat begins growing and is engulfed by lightening. Susan hides. When she peers over the couch a gorgeous, naked man is laying on her carpet. While Rayvn explains things to Susan, the Apollites track them down. Styker is the leader of the Daimons. He and his half-sister Satara come up with a plan to get Acheron, the leader of the Dark-Hunters, to suffer while taking over Seattle. Acheron's only weakness is his compassion for his Dark-Hunters and they intend to use it against him. Susan and Ravyn team up trying to find out what the Daimons are up to. While their feelings toward each other begin to grow, they discover the Daimon's motives. They have to stop them before they kill all of the Dark-Hunters and then take over the world, city by city. A riveting storyline and well-choreographed fight scenes, collide with vivid emotions and searing sensuality to make Dark Side Of The Moon an action packed and emotional, thrill ride. However, I felt that Susan and Ravyn seemed more like partners rather than lovers. Ravyn's reaction to his mate is somewhat less than enthusiastic, while Susan's attraction to Ravyn is strong throughout the story. I wish their romantic connection were stronger, sooner. It's not necessary to read the previous Dark-Hunter books before this one, but the incredible depth of the Dark-Hunters world is better understood when you read them all. Dark Side Of The Moon is a turning point in this series. A certain Character makes his long awaited Dark-Hunter appearance, and the ending drops a bombshell that will have Dark-Hunter fans everywhere screaming! Also because of hurricane Katrina, this is the first Dark-Hunter novel to take place outside of New Orleans. Even though I felt the connection between Ravyn and Susan was slightly weaker than the usual between Dark-hunter's and their mates, I thoroughly enjoyed Dark Side Of The Moon. Each character is fascinating and the story line is detailed and intriguing. Sherrilyn Kenyon once again delivers an exceptionally well-written story that has left this reader begging for more! Dark Side of the Moon:
Kenyon continues to surprise me at her inventiveness in her Dark-Hunter series. Book 11 is waiting on my bedside table. She continues to be laugh out loud funny, sarcastic, witty and get the fight scenes down with military percision. Wish for MORE!!!!!!

Dark Side of the Moon:
I, for one, enjoyed this book just like have all of the others by Kenyon. It was a new twist on the DH series having a shape shifter in the mix and I loved the sarcasm myself. There is nothing like a little fun bickering to build suspense...or sexual tension. Everyone reacts to situations differently and how can you limit the personalities of characters when the world is so full of variety? It can get a little confusing keeping up with all of the characters but since the whole thing seems loosely based on Greek mythology, and the plethora of Gods and Goddesses in that domain, it is only fun that there are a lot of new and mysterious characters showing up. It brings in a lot of new material to work with in the future and makes you wonder how they are going to fit in the bigger picture. Over all a busy story that I will probably read it again and see if I can guess how the story line will come together.
