You get what you pay for: The opening on the vice is only 4.5 inches as specified. I missed this. I was expecting at least 6-7". The handles are rather difficult to turn after they are half way extended. The installation instructions are extremely sparse, but most of it is logical. It will probably be more of a horse than a workbench for me. I think the B & D 225 would have been a much better choice.
A horse yes, a vise no!: I bought this primarily to use as a folding horse. I knew the price was too low to expect much. It does, in fact, work fine as a light-duty support. But you can't use this to clamp anything. If you apply any force at all to the clamping screws, the halves of the table buckle upward. You might be able to run a sander over a workpiece clamped on this table, but don't expect to be able to cut, plane, etc. Oh, my instructions were in Italian, but I was able to figure it out.
2 Big thumbs up: I bought the Grizzly Portable workbench for my husband. He liked it so much when his company deployed to Afghanistan he took it with him. He has told me to buy a few more for when he comes home. I would recommend this to anyone.
GREAT WORKBENCH........for a portable: Exactly what i was looking for. It was a replacement for a different brand and it's the tops. My musician friend uses it to set up as tables for some of his music equipment.
