First Class Mill:
I have several Vic Firth and a few other brands of salt and pepper mills. I grew up on them so, they are a necessity it seems. These days you will find many types and makes of pepper and salt mills yet, almost all of them "chop" the pepper corns and do not have a setting which will stay put nor grind the pepper as it should. Vic Firth has the right pepper mill and the salt mill even though it is "nylon" it does a spendid job in milling up the kosher salt chunks sold in the stores. You cannot find an easier place to shop and find great Vic Firth products than Amazon dot com. This style is my favorite as it stands very sturdy and has a larger top diameter for big hands. My second favorite is the Mario then the Federal.

don't buy a cheap pepper grinder:
If you are like me, you've tried a zillion pepper grinders and they always end up breaking up being too hard to turn or not grinding the pepper evenly. I bought this one and it has none of those problems. Such a small thing in the world -- a pepper grinder, who cares? -- but I use it every day, so I recommend getting a good one.

Good Stuff - No Problems:
It took me ages to decide to finally buy a real pepper grinder and another two months to pick the "right" on out. Then I decided I would need a nice salt mill too. The cherry wood is beautiful and these grinders clean up easily (I've left greasy hand prints more than once.) This grinder is attractive, easy to get a good grip on and efficient. I've been using it for 6 months with no problems at all. Very happy with this purchase!
