Amazon.com Product Description: The Bench Dog 10-005 Feather-Loc Featherboard can greatly enhance the performance of your woodworking machines and, more importantly, significantly increase your safety. The 10-005 is made from a nearly indestructible polymer plastic, and its 13 fingers have just the right combination of flex and hold-down power to keep the workpiece firmly pressed against the machine's tabletop or fence. The Feather-Loc has T-head bolts that slide into the machine's miter-gauge slot. It also has a pair of adjustment slots and two large knobs that allow you to position the featherboard, and then securely lock it in place. It'll also fit most 3/8-inch by 3/4-inch T-slot track systems, like those used on the Bench Dog 40-006 ProFence or the 40-037 ProTop Complete Router Table System. Consider buying more than one Feather-Loc Featherboard, since it can be used on virtually any tool with a miter-gauge slot, including a table saw, shaper, router table, and bandsaw. -- Joseph Truini
Qualified Good Product: Generally a good product but I find the feathers to be a bit too stiff for the purpose. Also the price is twice what it should be for a simple molded part with a couple of pieces of hardware.
useful aid in ripping long boards: When ripping long boards (8-12 feet) on my table saw, the featherboard functions as an assistant holding the board snuggly against the fence. Quick turns of the 2 toggles hold the featherboard firmly against the board and in the miter slot. This is a handy little device.
featherboard: I bought this item to use with my table saw but the slide will not fit in my miter slot! Don't know if this can be adapted or not!
Well made: I have not used the product yet, but it should add to the quality of my work when i'm using my saw.
Benchdog Featherboards: I have several of these featherboards now. I use them with my router table. They do a good job of controlling the position of the stock that I am cutting or shaping. My router table has several T-slots that are compatible with the adjustable fasteners. That said, I can use these in the vertical plane and in the horizontal plane to maintain proper orientation. I use them on the in-feed side and the out-feed side. The directionality of the device does force me to plan ahead and be mindful of the feed direction. The angularity of the device helps to get a little more positional control just a bit further under my router table's protective viewing shield. I tend to mount these devices as close as possible to the cutter. The "T" handle adjustments work well. I usually start with a piece of scrap wood and set the compression force on that piece in accordance with the operation that I am planning. I tend to set one handle and lever off that to set the second, then re-adjusting the first to fine tune the effect. Overall, I find this to be a good product and will probably get another pair before long.
