Amazon.com Review: What we're looking for in a weed eater is the perfect balance of power and weight; we want a machine with enough juice to get the job done, yet light enough to tote about without straining either elbow or patience. We gave the Barracuda weed eater top marks for performance. With its 12 amp motor and two air speeds (125 and 195 mph), you'll never want for power, and its three-in-one versatility means it not only mulches weeds with a vengeance (as befits a machine called Barracuda), but it's a leaf blower and vacuum, as well. You can mulch debris at a 16:1 ratio into compost-ready material and then collect it in the large vacuum bag that's included. You can also clean your gutters with the gutter attachment (not included). As for the weight department, the Barracuda is moderate; though they call it lightweight, you're not going to want to spend hours using it. On the other hand, it's a durable, well-designed, effective and robust tool.
Brilliant!: This is the first Blower I've ever owned. Bought it to clean my gutters out with the 10ft extension which was hard work but worth it. The blower is extremely powerful - using the attachment debris flew absolutely everywhere and made a clean gutter in no time at all. After that job was done, as we live in the woods I decided I try the vacuum out which is also brilliant. We had thick leaves built up and it made a meal of them. The mulcher is great too. I went for this over a gas on the basis of wind speed and price. I think it's a bargain for both jobs. Two slight downsides to this product. The suction pipe for me sometimes becomes loose but I think that was just me - keep an eye on that. Secondly if you're using it to clean the gutters, I was up a ladder doing this and it is noisy when it's near you - some ear plugs wouldn't go a miss. Watch out if you're holding it near you too, I managed to get it sucking my clothes in :) Don't forget to get a long extension chord too - I picked a 100ft from Home Depot for $14. Overall a great buy for me!
Best electric blower on the market: I wore out my first Weed Eater blower after 10 years of heavy use. I use it to blow dry my Harleys after washing besides using it for blowing off my decks and concrete driveway. I also own an electric Toro and compared to the Weed Eater it's a worthless POS. The exhaust nozzle has been redesigned from my older one, which is a good thing. Word of CAUTION !!! Do not wear jammy bottoms with the string ties hanging loosely in front, cuz this thang will suck them up into the blower motor faster than the dropping real estate prices in Baghdad.
barracuda 2595 electric blower/vacuun: Great product very powerfull this is my second blower and it better then the last one.
Missing Parts!: I bought this from Polsteins Home & Beyond. Warning, beware! dont buy from Polsteins Home & Beyond! The blower/vacuum is missing some parts. It only has the nozzle ends of the blower and the vacuum, it does NOT have the blower tube or the upper vacuum tube parts in the box. It is not useable without these parts. The tubes are required for connecting the nozzles to the power unit. The pictures of this product that I saw on Amazon, showed these parts, so I expect them to be part of the kit. Polsteins replied: "the pictures are for illustration purposes only. They are not included with the vaccum." What kind of crazy reply is that? You cant trust the multiple enlarged views? Arnt they there so you can know what you are buying? DUH! It makes no sense to sell someone a blower/vacuum that just comes with the nozzle ends, and not the tubes that connect the nozzles to the power unit. There was no notification that in order to actually use the blower/vacuum, you will have to buy other parts. Don't you think that would have been a responsible thing to do? You've been warned!
Best Garden Tool Ever: This leaf vacuum is tremendous. An improved version of the Baracuda I used for eight years, the leaves - and small twigs - are shredded to the bag and immediately ready to be used as mulch. It doesn't clog and works okay on wet leaves - but prefers the dry and crispy ones a little better. This is an absolutely awesome tool for the "green" gardener who loves to turn leaves into mulch and manage his own yard waste.
