This Volume Offers insight into the development of Soviet film from a propaganda tool to a means of entertainment in the Stalin era; the rise of dissident arthouse cinema in the 1960s to the films of the glasnost era; and recent Russian blockbusters. Selected films represent both the classics of Russian and Soviet cinema as well as those that are part of Russia's cultural reference.
