This book is great! And in Filipino too!: Hayop talaga ang librong ito! Filipino pa ang pagkakasulat, winner! Sana ang makabasa nito ay marunong din mag-Filipino. Kamusta na kayo dyan? =)
Fun Word Book! My Baby Loves It!: BRIAN WILDSMITH'S FARM ANIMALS has been a fun addition to our baby's book collection. While I own and like his ABC book, the illustrations in BRIAN WILDSMITH'S FARM ANIMALS are more inspired. Each page feels colorful and active. The animals often have interesting expressions on their faces. The word for each animal sound is printed on the page, usually twice, and Wildmsith has fun with that. Often one is printed bolder for a louder sound. On the Pigs page, most pigs, of course, say oink. One pig is sleeping and so his sound is zzzz. My baby just loves the pictures. He pulls this one out of the basket, opens it up, and giggles at the cow. Something I especially like about the book is the relationships between the animals. Often thee is more than one animal on the page, sometimes multiples of the same type (several pigs, a mama duck with baby ducks). A cat and mouse appear on the same page. There is a two page spread with a hen, chicks and a rooster. It is another cute to go past just reading the labels to talk about the pictures. I considered the bilingual Spanish-English edition, but am actually just as happy I got this edition of BRIAN WILDSMITH'S FARM ANIMALS. The pictures are so good that nothing more is needed for a fun reading experience.
a different approach: I really liked the differences in the "sounds" that the farm animals make from one culture to another.
