Great for adults, kids, and everyone in between: This book is a great introduction to knitting for anyone of any age, and would be fun to work on together with friends or kids. My mom works at an elementary school and brought this book home for the holidays. I'm a college student and perhaps an "advanced-beginner" at knitting and couldn't wait to get started on the projects. The book is well organized with special sections for materials and getting started. I've made several of the items in this book and they all turn out great. In addition, the way projects are presented is descriptive enough to give you the skills that allow for creativity and a personal touch. The book is filled with full-color photos of each project as well as illustrations of knitting techniques. There are very simple projects (garter stitch bean bags) through more complicated ones like socks, a backpack, and a sweater. The more advanced skills are introduce with the project, so new knitters won't be overwhelmed at the beginning. There are TONS of great items, most of which can be completed in a short amount of time with a relatively small amount of yarn. All the materials needed can be found at a local craft store (no need for a fancy yarn shop). Enjoy!
Great book for easy patterns: This is a fun book with lots of neat patterns, but I wouldn't make it my first "learn to knit" book. I would use it more for the projects after the basic steps of knitting are learned. If you know the basics, all the projects in here would be fun and interesting, better than most found in other kids knitting books, and a lot adult "learn to knit" books too.
perfect book for granddaughter: I had this book and knitted all 10 grandkids the gingerbread man in the book. Our 16 year old grand daughter I taught to knit I bought the book for her. Thank you Diann
great fun: I love this book. I got it to inspire my knitting children, and have found that it has inspired me, too!! Great, easy to follow ideas and instructions.
Great Instructions: I love this book, I am a knitter and it is the only book I have looked at and understood the pictures. I recommend this book to everyone who wants to learn how to knit no matter their age.
