great for quick jotting of notes but small for extensive study .

this is a very nice book. i did not know that it was going to be so big. the shipping was great and the price, just the right space to write.

Torn in opinion:
For what it is, it is exactly as described. It is a very solid hardback book imprinted as described. Personally, I could have done without the "Book of Shadows" inscribed on the spine, but as I said, that is personal opinion and does not detract from my review. What does, however, is the manner in which it was shipped, which was as cheaply as humanly possible. It arrived in a very cheap (apparently recycled) single wall cardboard envelope. Thank goodness it's not the rainy season! What irritated me was the fact that it arrived damaged which could have been prevented by some simple bubble wrap. The second thing I found disconcerting was the fact that the post office had two rubber stamps on the envelope. One read: Received Unsealed. The other: Received without contents". Nice. The package was so damaged that it was impossible to tell what exactly happened to it and who tried to repair it. Ultimately, it was open when I got it. Really...just what I need. In a small community like mine, someone in the post office associating "That Book With The Pentagram On It" with me. Again, nice. Look...a little bubble wrap, an extra piece of tape and we're cool. I would have even paid more for shipping if I knew it was going to come to: Caveat Emptor Sorry, but that's my three stars worth. Oh, and it's usable, so I'm not going through the pain and inconvenience of the dreaded "Return Procedure".

A wonderful spellbook for witches, Wiccans, etc.:
I must say, from all the BoS's I have owned over the years, this one looks simply remarkable. Plain, with the infamous pentagram on the front, and from what I have read, good writing space. Over the 20+ years I have been a High Priestess, believe me, I have gone through a LOT of pages over the years. But a book like this would good to keep your most important spells, rituals, initiation dates, and such, to pass down to your Acolyte, etc. I myself have a personal one, that I keep very secret, with only my most valued oral teachings from my own Elders in the Craft, who have long since passed on to the SummerLand now. And this way, it shall forever be kept, undiluted, and uncensored.
