This book put a smile on my face!: This book was given to me by a friend. I couldn't wait to dive into it! As a Cathy fan for many years, I can relate to her on many levels. The cookbook has simple recipes, along with humorous anecdotes and illustrations. A must-have for anyone who appreciates Cathy and her wisdom.
Good X-Mas Gift for single female friends: This book is typical of Cathy humor plus some really good recipes. I am recommending it as a good Christmas gift for single female friends.
Good food and fun!: I received this book years ago and I have enjoyed many of the recipes since. Some are for the cooking impared, but all are great tasting. Enjoy!
ARRGGG- is a frantic saying.. but this 'frantic' book is fun: For anyone who reads the newspaper comic strips, we know there is at least one of them that almost all women can relate to and many men do too - Cathy. Girl Food - Cathy's Cookbook for the well-balanced woman contains some fun recipes with super long "Cathyism" titles: "No, I did NOT but this at a deli and throw out the containter Potato Green Bean Salad"; or "Why did I buy and itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny bikini Linguine". Scattered throughout the book are Cathy Guisewite's humorous cartoon scetches of Cathy. Many of the recipes are very simple to make, with ingredients that are readily available at the local market. There are no suggestions on variations, but these recipes are fun when giving out the names.
Where's Cathy??: As a die-hard Cathy fan, just bought this book without looking at it..expected more cartoons, a larger book. The recipes seem to be those you can find in any cookbook - mashed potatoes?? hot fudge sauce?? Very disappointed. If there was more about Cathy in the book it might be worth it..but this was waste of money.
