[.uk] The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer: My Life at Rose Red (ISBN 0786890436)

Grand Fictional Book:
I, unlike others, actually watched the tv movie first; however, watched it many years later though. After watching this movie, i became obsessed with this house, Ellen and the whole plot. i reached everything i could find on it. nothing of course had any confirmational ends to the strings that the plot kept me on. though i still went forward, deeper researching this haunted house, including looking up newspaper articles in the Seattle Times, and the moment that i realized it was a complete work of fiction, was an editorial from the mayor of seattle stating that he honestly wished that Stephen King had chosen another city to base his story on. the after math, according to the mayor, was hundreds of people, searching the city for this house and condo site where the film took place. with there people haunting the streets of seattle, it caused issues with traffic, shopping and other such nasties. the mayor also stated that he would make sure that Stephen King would never again be allowed to base a movie in his city. i loved this movie; however, when i purchased the actual book, it was my freshman year of college and i read it in between classes. it completely engolfed me, sucked me into the plot. the person(s) who wrote this, was and expert in creating such a engolfing plot. it was a good read nonetheless. i now own the dvd, the mass-released (black and red cover) book, and the original (tan cover hardcover) book. Kudos to the person(s) who did this.

Red Rose Diary:
I bought this for my wife and she said that while it begins a little slow it gives a lot of interesting detail on what happened before the movie. She liked it and would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the movie.

Haunting...:
A group of friends and I passed this book around at the beach and all enjoyed it. The book was detailed and engaging. I enjoyed thinking that it was based on real events and found out that it is in fact fiction. It's still worth reading and I'm looking forward to watching the mini-series.

Great Book:
Enjoyed book from beginning to end. Great story line, Can't wait to buy the movie.

Better than Ellen Rimbaurer movie:
This book was quite interesting. I had seen the movie: The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer before reading the book and thought I wouldn't like it, since I didn't care for the movie. However, the book was much better than I expected. It has been edited by someone with the pseudonym Joyce Reardon which is actually a guy from what I researched but is told in a diary form with entries made by Ellen. It covers the start of her courtship with John Rimbauer up through her death. But along the way you learn about her relationship with John and how the man she once loved turned out to be someone she hated and how her famous haunted house Rose Red protected her along with her servant Sukeena by killing off men and causing women to disappear. I would recommend the book if you're just looking for some easy leisurely reading.
