Great Reference Book: This is a very extensive and well organized reference book for the home gardener but as the title says, its an encyclopedia and does not provide suggestions, garden planning or tips. I bought this book along with the "Gardening All-in-One for Dummies" for the "how to's" and it has been a perfect combination.
Great book for anyone that likes plants: I am a college student and have work land scape at a private and very beautiful golf course in the mid west for 5 years, and let me tell you this book is probably one of the best books I have worked with. The back is great it shows you what plants like what type of conditions and where they should be planted. Though it doesn't have every single type of plant in it, it still is an excellent book for any experience type. The book is laid out in different sections, for example tree and shrub, house plants, grasses, flowers, and vegetable, fruit and herb care so finding something is easy even when you don't know the name. Plus how can you go wrong with a book that is made by miracle grow.
Good Reference Tool: This book is a great source of information, good descriptions of many plants and shrubs. I refer to it often....
Big, helpful book: This book is everything I wanted in a reference book. Clear concise information, useful to the beginner gardener. Beautiful photograghs too!
