[.uk] I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly (Sing-Along Stories) (ISBN 0316734098)

Wonderful children's book:
This book, based on the folk song, is delightful. It is imaginatively, whimsically, and humorously illustrated. There is an "Old Lady" rag doll that comes with all the creatures she swallows and can be placed in her mouth as the book is read. I bought both to give to a child as a gift.

This is a delightful read!:
My daughter had this book when she was 2 and she LOVED it. Now I'm a home daycare provider and my daycare kids love it. It has a great rythme and funny pictures. I haven't had one child who was scared yet. I have been doing daycare for 3 yrs.

I know an old lady who swallowed a fly:
We bought two different editions of the old woman swallowing larger and larger animals, to be read at our five-year-old grandson's preschool. This one truly delighted all the children (and especially Mark) more. The illustrations of the reactions of the animals and of the woman growing progressively more massive are hilarious! Mark reads the book over and over. We find particularly amuzing the picture of the disgusted looking cat standing patiently, while being made into a sandwich and of the old lady with the cat's tail protruding from her mouth.

Excellent picture book for elementary school child:
I purchased this for my daughter to include in a homeschooling unit. Once it arrived we were reading it at least twice a day. She LOVED the illustrations and within a week or so she knew most of the verse.

Absolutely adorable!:
This book is fantastic. Not only does it review the trials and tribulations of the old lady in the song I remember from my days at camp, but it is accompanied by hysterical illustrations that keep my husband and I both thoroughly entertained as we read/ sing the book to our son, who adores the book. People who would find the illustrations scary and disturbing are most likely also the people who believe Road Runner cartoons are too violent. We think this book is fabulous... but then again we always cheered for Wile E. Coyote...
