![]() Tom Thomson (Canadian, 1877-1917) loved the rough country of northern Ontario. After a slow beginning as an artist, he found his stride and created hundreds of small sketches while supporting himself as a guide and forest ranger. Many of Thomson's oils were executed in only a few hours but are nonetheless emblematic of Canadian art. Works in this calendar: Silver Birches; A Northern Lake; Spring Thaw; Round Lake, Mud Bay; Marguerites, Wood Lilies and Vetch; Pine Tree; Boats; The West Wind; Autumn Foliage; Forest; The Canoe; and Algonquin Park.
